Mission Statement:

To create an environment where ALL players are recognized for their individual strengths and talents. We are dedicated to the personal growth and development of every single player. This is a baseball and life experience and much more than playing games. MVCYB requires young players to have fun, play hard, play with desire, play to win, use losing to improve and understand sportsmanship and integrity.

 

 

History:

MVCYB grew out of a desire to integrate instructional as well as competitive baseball players.  Rather than separating 'selet' players from recreational players, MVCYBL works to combine all players during a regular season and following a regular season, make extended play available to as many players as possible.  MVCYBL hosts a 12-14 game regular season, the Diamond Dog Select teams as well as a number of age based Tournament Teams, allowing for an additional 8-30 games to be added to a standard league season. 

 

 

The Diamond Dogs

The Diamond Dogs offer South Skagit County baseball players the ability to play a higher level of baseball and play an extended season, offering greater opportunity for growth and development.  With its first team formed in 2009, the Diamond Dogs have now grown to 3 full teams with plans for 1 more in 2015. Diamond Dog teams participate in Cal Ripkin and Babe Ruth Leagues in the area and were proud to be the Cal Ripkin State Champions (12 Year Old Division) in 2013 and captured 2nd Place in 2014's Babe Ruth State Tournament. The 2015 Season found the 14U team within 1 inning of the Babe Ruth World Series, finishing in 2nd Place in the Western Region Finals hosted at Lewis & Clark State University.​

Try Outs (only for those wanting to be considered for the Diamond Dogs competitive or instructional tournament team(s)

12U  at McLean Rd:  March 12th (Time to be determined)

12U  Depending on interest a 2nd Tryout for an additional tournament team will be held later in the season for 11u-12u players.

11U  at McLean Rd:  March 12th (Time to be determined)

10U  at McLean Rd:  March 12th (Time to be determined) - a 2nd Tryout for an additional tournament team will be held later in the season.

9U    at McLean Rd:  TBD following or co-ordianted with the 2nd 10u tournament team (Time to be determined)

6-9 Coach Pitch: at Bakerview Park:  (Start date and times to be determined)

 

Season Start:  Teams will be formed the week following Tryouts.  (Individual Coaches will communicated team start dates and times)

 

 

Coaching Philosply

The goal of every Diamond Dogs Coach is to develop the character and playing ability of each individual player.  Through advanced drills and leadership from senior coaching staff, each Team Coach is prepared to offer every player a chance to become better at the game of baseball and a better teammate.
